About us

Parents, advocates, friends — building the community we wished we had.

SEN Families Unite CIC grew from lived experience.

Our Founder and CEO, Mrs Mariama C. Davies, knows personally what it means to navigate the SEND journey as a parent. Her experience supporting and advocating for her own son revealed how overwhelming and isolating that journey can sometimes feel — and how powerful the right support, understanding and community can be.

That experience became the foundation for SEN Families Unite: a community created to ensure families do not have to navigate their journeys alone.

Our story

From one family's journey to a wider community

What began as one parent's determination to find better support for her child has grown into a community organisation standing alongside other SEND families. We share practical help, encouragement and a sense of belonging — because no family should feel they are walking this path on their own.

Our values

Our Values

Celebrate uniqueness

Every child is wonderfully made. We honour difference and the small daily wins.

Stronger together

No parent should walk this path alone. Community is the heart of what we do.

Lead with kindness

We meet families where they are — without judgement, with deep empathy.

Our people

The People Behind Our Purpose

SEN Families Unite CIC is guided by people who share a commitment to supporting, empowering and connecting SEND families. Together, our leadership and committee bring their experience, care and dedication to the work we do.
